Work Experience
Served in the Indian Administrative Service from September 1988 to Dec. 2023. Worked as Additional Chief Secretary to two Chief Ministers of Maharashtra Nov. 2011- Sept. 2014 & Feb. 2020- June 2022), Additional Chief Secretary (Transport & Ports), Additional chief Secretary (Finance- A&T), Additional chief Secretary (Skill Development, Entrepreneurship & Innovation), Principal Secretary (Public Works Department), Managing Director of SICOM, Secretary to the Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (2004-2009), and as PS to the Minister of State (Civil Aviation), Managing Director of Maharashtra Tourism and Kerala Tourism, District Collector of Gadchiroli District (Maharashtra) and Sub Collector, Kottayam (Kerala).
Vision and strategy
- Formulated the EV policy, Scrappage Policy and the Port policy 2019 of the State
- Framed the policy for Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway
- Led and managed large-scale public sector organisations, with employees in excess of 10,000 and annual budgets of more than Rs. 10,000 crores
- Organisational change at scale, including revenue growth and profitability in Transport & Ports Department, Public Works Department, Kerala Tourism, Maharashtra Tourism & SICOM
- “God’s Own Country” was acclaimed as a Superbrand
- Conceived, built & launched the “Deccan Odyssey” train, which has been adjudged one of the top five luxury trains in the world.
- Implemented the Ajantha-Ellora Heritage and Tourism Development project with JBIC assistance
